We started sponsoring students to pay their school and other fees starting in 2009.  It has been a way to get to know the community. We typically have at least 10 kids sponsored.  Many have made it through high school and university. In looking more holistically at schools we have found some situations where a child needs a step up. Shakira can’t walk and her siblings carried her to school each day.  We recently brought a travel wheelchair, and it changed her life.
